Brinzolamide (known as Azopt) is a common eye drop from the carbonic anhydrase inhibitor family.
Usage Instructions
It is a suspension (a slightly thick/milky liquid), so it is imperative to shake the bottle well before every use. The drops are administered two to three times a day and are highly effective when given as an adjunct to other drops like prostaglandins.
Advantages over Dorzolamide
Brinzolamide (Azopt) was developed to cause less stinging and burning upon instillation compared to its counterpart in the group (Dorzolamide), though it may cause slight blurred vision for a few minutes due to its milky texture.
